Now signed to Hugues Aufray’s Virgin Records, the title track from second album “Le Meilleur De” leads Hugues Aufray’s back-to-school campaign. Hugues Aufray had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. When you buy a Hugues Aufray album, you know exactly what you’re getting! Great Chanson right here!
After about the third Je Reviens (Les Portes De Saint-Malo) listen through, I began to believe this song is Hugues Aufray’s essence. Album opener N’y Pense Plus, Tout Est Bien is a bright, upbeat ditty. Des Que Le Printemps Revient is the albums biggest surprise. This song stands out greatly from the others. I like the idea behind Les Rossignol Anglais. It’s also one of those rare songs that touchingly comfort the listener. L’homme Orchestre - This one has a powerful beat and a good melody. Il Faut Ranger Ta Poupee is, without a doubt, my favorite song, ever. L’epervier has a fun tempo. Les Crayons De Couleur is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about. Celine is a very catchy tune. This song is dynamic and dramatic. From the sound of it, I believe the song can be a big radio hit. De Velours Noir - Check out that bassline! In Des Jonquilles Aux Derniers Lilas the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. Don’t judge Le Port De Tacoma on the first listening. Le Petit Ane Gris stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. I like Adieu Monsieur Le Professeur because it’s extremely catchy and has awesome drumming. Petit Simon as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature.
