Lead single “Ombra Mai Fu” and “Furioso” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. While no new Cafe Del Mar album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 2005 tour in North America. Cafe Del Mar’s debut, ‘Aria vol.3 Metamorfosis’, does not fit easily into one genre. If I may, I suggest “Ombra Mai Fu”. That one song is amazing!
Aria vol.3 Metamorfosis couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track Furioso. Sogno is nothing but pure genius. Metamorphosis 2 Danae is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. A great put together song. What sets Interlude Lorchestre Englout apart is Cafe Del Mar’s innovative and organic way of creating atmospheres. Amami presents the gorgeous mix of instruments on Aria vol.3 Metamorfosis. Lascia has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets Cafe Del Mar’s strong vocals come to the fore. This track is just fantastic from start to finish. A unique and uplifting song. Ascension is the marvelous blend of moody yet optimistic tunes. I’ve found myself listening to Metamorphosis 1 Arachne back to back and back many times. I was truly moved when I heard Furioso Instrumental Mix. Ombra Chilled Mix sets the tone for the entire album.
