Since completing 2004’s ‘Unchained Melody’, The Drifters fulfilled their contract with Savoy Records and where under no obligation to release another album. ‘Unchained Melody’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. The Drifters was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from The Drifters and Unchained Melody together. Unchained Melody is preety good and all the songs have a good meaning behind them.
When My Little Girl Is Smiling (2:08) - Oh, this is one of my favorites! Honey Love - For me, this is the best of the album. I believe Feelings is one of the most perfect, heartfelt songs ever written. I Do Believe I’m Falling In Love is an underrated song: I like its lyrics and melody a lot. Musically Lonely Winds is superior to other tracks in Unchained Melody. Just The Way You Are is such a marvelous and optimistic song that things can get just better. Bring It On Home To Me makes a person feel excellent. I Need Your Love is the album’s biggest hit, I think. Outside of the singles, my favorite song on Unchained Melody is (If Loving You Is Wrong) I Don’t Want To Be Right. In Night Moves it becomes nowhere more obvious that The Drifters has yet to define own style. First time I heard Three Times A Lady was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing.I loved Cupid Medley the first time I heard it. On The Beach is flawed, nonetheless pretty good song. In 39 21 40 Shape Be My Girl The Drifters spins a tale you want to hear to the end. Wonderful World as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. Hey Baby is almost impossible to review.
