This is the first studio album from Richard Ashcroft since bad diagnosis in 2006. Keys To The World carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. This is one of the best Cd’s Richard Ashcroft has dropped to date. This is my first Richard Ashcroft Album and i must say i am blown away.
When I listen to Music Is Power in my car when traffic ain’t going so good. I have all of Richard Ashcroft’s tracks and Break The Night With Colour is probably the most his introspective effort. This song may be the most meaningful. Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right. Although Sweet Brother Malcolm is very melodic it is far from sad. Cry Til The Morning is a song that takes you on the journey before it reaches the conclusion. This is one of those tracks that should not be judged after the first hearing. Simple Song actually sounds so joyous, that you can practically see a smile on Richard Ashcroft’s face. World Keeps Turning is such a perfect and optimistic song that things can get just better. I think 75 Degrees (Bonus Track) is the best song Richard Ashcroft has ever done.
