On Blue Note Sessions album, Nigel Kennedy have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. This twelve-song debut EP shows the promise that Nigel Kennedy has. Blue Note Sessions isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. Last Hot Album by Nigel Kennedy
A unique and uplifting song. Maybe in Your Dreams is a great opener for Blue Note Sessions. Within the first few notes of Sunshine Alley it’s perfectly clear that Nigel Kennedy is living this song. Nearly great lyrics, dark, deep, angry and cool.I find myself hearing bits of Expansions here and there throughout my waking hours. Stranger in A Stranger Land is probably the highlight of the album. Song for My Father is just a great song and one well worth taking the time to give it a good listen. It’s a great pleasure to listen to After the Rain from the beginning to the end. Nigel Kennedy offers the kind of music here that makes you reflect on yourself. Music and lyrics of Song for World Forgiveness creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming.
