I am not a real Pop music type of person, but i have to admit ‘Some Kinda’ really is amazing. There is so much to love about Dwele, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. ‘Some Kinda’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. If I may, I suggest “Holla”. That one song is amazing!
A Pimp’s Dream have really caught my ear and imagination. Know Your Name is probably the most interesting track on Some Kinda. Awesome song is really all that you can say about it. Flapjack is perhaps one of the best tracks of the past decade. It’s also one of those rare songs that touchingly comfort the listener. This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on Some Kinda. Lay It Down - Check out that bassline! I Think I Love You is a song that will not reduce you to tears but leave you thinking long after Some Kinda have ended. The sound in Continuation is really warm and Dwele’s signature voice is still very much present. Keep On - Okay, I just talked about depth. Some Kinda Prelude (…And So It Is) is astounding. Some Kinda is flawed, nonetheless pretty good song. This is probably my favorite song on the album. This is the most melodic ambitious and satisfying track in Some Kinda.
