Mila Sparrow has compared writing for James Newton Howard’s new album to that on ‘The Village’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. While no new James Newton Howard album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 2004 tour in South America. On The Village album, James Newton Howard have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. Enjoy the show.
The sound in What Are You Asking Me is really warm and James Newton Howard’s signature voice is still very much present. The Bad Color one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard. |titile| is a sure sign of something most of us are experiencing, maturity. Will You Help Me has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets James Newton Howard’s strong vocals come to the fore. Vocals of James Newton Howard in I Cannot See His Color really capture me and are set perfectly to the rhythm. Rituals is the song that really did it for me. The Gravel Road gets you up and jumping. James Newton Howard allows each song to breathe and flourish. The Forbidden Line is, without a doubt, my favorite song, ever. |titile| is the kind of record that makes you remember why music can be so addictive. It Is Not Real - Well, here we get a bit more meaning. The Shed Not To Be Used had me crying as I was able to relate so well.
