Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of France Gall on ‘Ella, Elle L’A’. On the Poland charts, superstar France Gall’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. This is the first studio album from France Gall since bad diagnosis in 2004. I wish that “Evidemment (CD 2)” album was instrumental.
Cezanne Peint is almost impossible to review. La Seule Chose Qui Compte is new, fresh, and hypnotizing. This is the most melodic ambitious and satisfying track in Evidemment (CD 2). Laissez Passer Les Reves is a song that takes you on the journey before it reaches the conclusion. Message Personnel is the marvelous blend of moody yet optimistic tunes. This track is almost perfect, instrumentals and vocals combine awesomely. Evidemment - A classic France Gall track. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of France Gall. It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: Calypso, which shows, blatantly, how much France Gall has evolved as a singer. Musically La Chanson D’Azima is superior to other tracks in Evidemment (CD 2). C’Est Bon Que Tu Sois La is an incredible song that has everything it needs to be another favorite track. One of the more genuine-sounding songs is Babacar. Blew our minds when we first heard Superficiel Et Leger. Hong-Kong Star - is a breath or fresh air compared to many previous songs of France Gall. It took me a little time but I ended up loving Jamais Partir. Debranche to me is the best you can get from France Gall. Plus Haut which is my favorite is a truly France Gall sounding song.
