On Evidemment (CD 1) album, France Gall have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. On the Iceland charts, superstar France Gall’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. Evidemment (CD 1) isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. France Gall is one of my favourite bands of all time.
One of the more genuine-sounding songs is Resiste. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of France Gall. Blew our minds when we first heard Une Femme, Tu Sais. Ca Balance Pas Mal A Paris - I like this one. Ce Soir, Je Ne Dors Pas good vocals. Besoin D’Amour has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets France Gall’s strong vocals come to the fore. Diego, Libre Dans Sa Tete is a pleasing, and full of overall coherence that goes beyond other creations. I can’t stop playing Quand On Est Enfant. Music of Musique is gentle, never overbearing. This is one of those tracks that should not be judged after the first hearing. I like the idea behind Bebe Comme La Vie. Mais, Aime La is really a nice song to relax and listen too. Si, Maman, Si is the albums biggest surprise. Tout Pour La Musique is a striking and quite long song. This track is a fabulous selection of easy listening, suitable for any age, taste or occasion. Samba Mambo which is my favorite is a truly France Gall sounding song. In Amor Tambien (tout Le Monde Chante) it becomes nowhere more obvious that France Gall has yet to define own style. Comment Lui Dire is perhaps one of the best tracks of the past decade. If you are a France Gall fan, you will love Viens Je T’emmene. France Gall allows each song to breathe and flourish.
