It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Neal Schon energies, virtually a rebirth. Self-described as Jazz with lots of words, Neal Schon comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. Since Neal Schon last CD (I On U) on Mute Records back in 2005, I have felt a massive void in my life. If I may, I suggest “Blue Passion”. That one song is amazing!
There is amazing mix of music in I On U. Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right. The Chamber is just a great song and one well worth taking the time to give it a good listen. First time I heard Urban Angel was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing.Moon Dust is the more seemingly obscure song on I On U that bear up best to repeated listening. Loner’s Dream is a song that takes you on the journey before it reaches the conclusion. Burning Bridges can be hardly overrated by any means; this is what Neal Schon is all about. Highland gives good insight into the truths. It’s such an underrated song. In Taken There Neal Schon spins a tale you want to hear to the end. In Father it becomes nowhere more obvious that Neal Schon has yet to define own style.
