Widespread Panic’s debut, ‘Uber Cobra’, does not fit easily into one genre. It has been fourteen years Widespread Panic’ last studio CD, “Uber Cobra” which won Array Grammy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. This disc has all of the essential Widespread Panic classics. This is my first Widespread Panic Album and i must say i am blown away.
Wonderin’ is the funkiest number on the album. Can’t Get High is a striking and quite long song. Party At Your Mama’s House - A catchy, upbeat tune. Nobody’s Loss make listening to Widespread Panic like being in some sort of time warp. City Of Dreams is possibly the most mysterious and inexplicable track Widespread Panic ever produced. Geraldine and The Honey Bee is possibly the best song Widespread Panic has come up. Expiration Day is a medium tempo tune. Mercy is the most memorable and amazing. Imitation Leather Shoes - Check out that bassline! The song feels complete. Papa Johnny Road - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody.
