Lead single “Red Flags and Long Nights” and “These Things” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Since completing 2005’s ‘Red Flags and Long Nights’, She Wants Revenge fulfilled their contract with Mute Records and where under no obligation to release another album. She Wants Revenge’s debut, ‘She Wants Revenge’, does not fit easily into one genre. Smart music for smart people.
These Things is probably the highlight of the album. I Don’t Want To Fall In Love is so unique, as each one of the songs is. Out Of Control is a bit different from She Wants Revenge stereotypical stuff. I listened to the opening track Monologue and liked it a lot. Broken Promises For Broken Hearts is a bit of a show-tune. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with Sister. Disconnect - My least favorite song on this album. Us is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through She Wants Revenge. She Wants Revenge has created something that grabs you by the heart and gets you moving. |titile| is the kind of record that makes you remember why music can be so addictive. A unique and uplifting song.
