On Revival album, Reverend Horton Heat have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. It has been eight years Reverend Horton Heat’ last studio CD, “Revival” which won Array Emmy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. Reverend Horton Heat had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. Another great offering from Reverend Horton Heat.
Vocals of Reverend Horton Heat in Revival really capture me and are set perfectly to the rhythm. Lyrics of Callin’ In Twisted are precise and evocative. I can’t stop humming along If It Ain’t Got Rhythm. New York City Girls the elegant and beautiful song on the album is hard to describe. If you are a Reverend Horton Heat fan, you will love Indigo Friends. Don’t judge Someone In Heaven on the first listening. Octopus Mode is the best music that I have heard from anyone in any area of music. Party Mad (2:41) Not one of my favorites, but for a lot of people this is one of their best songs. Honky Tonk Girl is probably one of Reverend Horton Heat’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. In I’m Your Pet Rock it becomes nowhere more obvious that Reverend Horton Heat has yet to define own style. I find myself hearing bits of Rumble Strip here and there throughout my waking hours. We Belong Forever - a classic song. This is probably my favorite song on the album.
