eleven years ago, Shpongle briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Outer Shpongolia”. Shpongle’s debut, ‘Nothing Lasts’, does not fit easily into one genre. Lead single “Botanical Dimensions” and “Outer Shpongolia” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Exciting stuff.
Get Nothing Lasts and turn on Outer Shpongolia if you are going to sip your wine late at night. Levitation Nation good vocals. The song feels complete. Schmaltz Herring - Shpongle first major hit. I loved Nothing Lasts the first time I heard it. Shpongle has astounded me with this amazing track. Strong, powerful vocals of Shpongle in …but Nothing Is Lost are very impressive. When Shall I Be Free - I just love it. The Stamen Of The Shaman (4:11) Not one of my favorites, but for a lot of people this is one of their best songs. Circuits Of The Imagination - My least favorite song on this album. Linguistic Mystic is a song that will not reduce you to tears but leave you thinking long after Nothing Lasts have ended. Mentalism - is a breath or fresh air compared to many previous songs of Shpongle. Invocation presents the perfect mix of instruments on Nothing Lasts. Simple and heartfelt closing track Molecular Superstructure closes Nothing Lasts on a high note. The beautiful sound of this track makes you want to close your eyes and sway away with the music. Lyrics of Exhalation are precise and evocative. Connoisseur Of Hallucination was the first single release from the album Nothing Lasts. The Nebbish Route marked the continuation of Shpongle in style evolution. Shpongle sings Falling Awake in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved.
