Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Renaud on ‘Je Suis Un Voyou’. L’Absolutely Meilleur of Renaud is an amazing album, racked with beauty.While no new Renaud album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 2004 tour in Australia. L’Absolutely Meilleur of Renaud touched my soul like nothing else.
Adios Zapata! is the albums biggest surprise. La Medaille is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. It’s such an underrated song. C’est Quand Qu’on VA Ou? - is a breath or fresh air compared to many previous songs of Renaud. Le Petit Chat Est Mort one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard. From the moment you listen to La Ballade Nord-Irlandaise you’re hooked. This song is dynamic and dramatic. A unique and uplifting song. Hexagone is a strong cut, one of many. Laisse Beton is an incredible song that has everything it needs to be another favorite track. Music in Ma Gonzesse is amazing as in all tracks of L’Absolutely Meilleur of Renaud. Renaud rocks harder than ever with Chanson Pour Pierrot. Marche A L’ombre - I just love it. Les Aventures De Gerard Lambert is just a great song and one well worth taking the time to give it a good listen. Dans Mon H.L.M. is really a nice song to relax and listen too. The song feels complete. Manu is astounding. I can’t stop playing Des Que Le Vent Soufflera. It’s very catchy and easy to get into which is what you want in a song. I now have En Cloque as one of my personal favorites. One of the songs that always stick in my mind is Miss Maggie because the melody in the chorus is so good. Simply the finest work ever from this multi-talented singer. Mistral Gagnant is a bit different from Renaud stereotypical stuff. Morts Les Enfants is a song that definitely grows on you and becomes an album favorite. In Fatigue the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. Le Mere A Titi gives good insight into the truths. Triviale Poursuite - another great track from the L’Absolutely Meilleur of Renaud album. Me Jette Pas is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through L’Absolutely Meilleur of Renaud. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin.
