While no new Lali Puna album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 2004 tour in South America. Now signed to Lali Puna’s Virgin Records, the title track from second album “Faking The Books” leads Lali Puna’s back-to-school campaign. This compilation contains all of the biggest hits by Lali Puna. This album is a scorcher!
Call 1-800-FEAR is the first taste of the new album. It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: Micronomic, which shows, blatantly, how much Lali Puna has evolved as a singer. Small Things is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. B-Movie has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets Lali Puna’s strong vocals come to the fore. People I Know - For me, this is the best of the album. Grin and Bear is astounding. Nice and different song. The sound in Left Handed is really warm and Lali Puna’s signature voice is still very much present. Lali Puna offers the kind of music here that makes you reflect on yourself. Outside of the singles, my favorite song on Faking The Books is Crawling by Numbers.
