This -song debut EP shows the promise that Lali Puna has. There were many famous songs of Lali Puna available. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Lali Puna on ‘Failure of the Leading Sign Industry’. This album is awesome.
Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think 40 Days is my favorite song on I Thought I Was Over That. Clear Cut is one of those songs that will put you in a good mood. Such hits like Awaiting an Accident [Remix] will leave you hooked. It’s Not the Worst I’ve Looked [Remix][Mix] is one of the best records ever. All of songs on I Thought I Was Over That and have something to say letting alone Harrison Reverse. I listened to the opening track Daily Match and liked it a lot. (This Is) The Dream of Evan and Chan [Remix][Mix] is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. This track is just a stunning masterpiece. Some call Together in Electric Dreams from I Thought I Was Over That as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. Nin-Com-Pop [Thomas Leboeg Remix] - Thomas Leboeg - To me, this is the best song on the I Thought I Was Over That. The beautiful sound of this track makes you want to close your eyes and sway away with the music. Faking the Books [Dntel Remix] - Dntel is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through I Thought I Was Over That. I like Grin and Bear [To Rococo Rot Remix] - To Rococo Rot because it’s extremely catchy and has awesome drumming. Only one song from I Thought I Was Over That named Alienation [Alias Remix] really got me. Left Handed [Lali Puna Dub] is another strong production from Lali Puna. This track is nearly perfect if not perfect.
