This is one of the best Cd’s Frog Eyes has dropped to date. On The Folded Palm album, Frog Eyes have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. Frog Eyes had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. Such great and happy songs.
Akhian Press is a nice, innocuous song, and much better than anything Frog Eyes released so far. I Like Dot Dot Dot has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets Frog Eyes’s strong vocals come to the fore. Bells in the Crooked Port - For me, this is the best of the album. New Soft Mother Hood Alliance - A strong beat. Frog Eyes rocks harder than ever with Ship Destroyer. Heart That Felt Its Light is Frog Eyes’s best work in years. Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think Oscillator’s Hum is my favorite song on The Folded Palm. Nice and different song. This song has very few things relative to that of it’s predecessor. A great put together song. When I listen to Library Used to Be (Black Hole and Its Concentrated Edges) in my car when traffic ain’t going so good. Some call Russian Berries But You’re Quiet Tonight from The Folded Palm as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen.
