There is no doubt that Capercaillie has talent. Capercaillie was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Capercaillie and Grace and Pride: The Anthology 2004-1984 (CD 2) together. I am not a real Folk music type of person, but i have to admit ‘Grace and Pride: The Anthology 2004-1984 (CD 2)’ really is amazing. IT makes me wanna dance!
In Alasdair Mhic Cholla Ghasda you won’t find any flashy solos. Miracle Of Being (Youth Remix) is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. Bonaparte stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. Grace and Pride is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through Grace and Pride: The Anthology 2004-1984 (CD 2). Silver Spear Reels - A strong beat. Dean Cadalan / Servant To The Slave is a song you cannot help but think about at odd moments in your day. In Pige Ruadh full palet of sound is used by Capercaillie to accentuate the presentation. Waiting For The Wheel To Turn (12” Mix) pretty much defines how I feel spiritually. Dr. Macphail’s Reel is the song that really did it for me. Heart Of The Highland which is my favorite is a truly Capercaillie sounding song. This is one of those tracks that should not be judged after the first hearing. You can find feelings on this piece of art. Get Grace and Pride: The Anthology 2004-1984 (CD 2) and turn on Sidewaulk Reels if you are going to sip your wine late at night. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. Music of Oh Mo Dhuthaich is gentle, never overbearing. Calurn’s Road is a great song for a cosy night in when it’s cold and wintry outside. Fear A Bhata is excellent song though, very addictive. Capercaillie allows each song to breathe and flourish. The Little Cascade is a perfect sing-along.
