Mistyland isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. Since completing 2006’s ‘Dragen Heart’, Bandari fulfilled their contract with SixSteps records and where under no obligation to release another album. On Mistyland album, Bandari have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. One of Bandari’s best albums yet.
I like the idea behind The Lady And The Earl. This song could easily nestle itself onto the world top playlists. What sets Careless Eyes apart is Bandari’s innovative and organic way of creating atmospheres. The Holy Garden is a great song for a cosy night in when it’s cold and wintry outside. River Of Dreams - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. World Of Difference is a cool sing-along. Crystal Ball great lyrics, dark, deep, angry and cool. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of Bandari. Put Adagio Of The Highland into car stereo for your highway driving Serenade In Green - I used to hate this song, but now it’s one of my favorites. Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right. Orinoco Dreams is the song that really did it for me. Bandari offers the kind of music here that makes you reflect on yourself. May It Be is one of the coolest songs Bandari has ever recorded.
