This disc has all of the essential John Zorn classics. Now signed to John Zorn’s SixSteps records, the title track from second album “50th Birthday Celebration Vol.3″ leads John Zorn’s back-to-school campaign. IF YOU LIKE ALL John Zorn’S SONG GO FOR IT! I greatly enjoyed this CD.
John Zorn emotions are reflected through That Scene. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of John Zorn. Such hits like Unwritten Law will leave you hooked. Ponce is new, fresh, and hypnotizing. Come Yelling good vocals. On The Ropes gives good insight into the truths. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. Vocals of John Zorn in Pacing really capture me and are set perfectly to the rhythm. In Memory Of is another favourite of mine. I’ve found myself listening to Detroit For no Reason back to back and back many times. This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on 50th Birthday Celebration Vol.3. Lyrics of Want Those Boots are precise and evocative. Trampoline at Dawn is probably the highlight of the album. The song feels complete. Charming song, great melody. I loved Doll Sport the first time I heard it.
