Lead single “The Summoning” and “Sorceress” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Mila Sparrow has compared writing for John Zorn’s new album to that on ‘Moonchild’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. This disc has all of the essential John Zorn classics. This album is in perfect progression from John Zorn!
Sorceress is probably the highlight of the album. Moonchild - I just love it. In Le Part Maudit John Zorn spins a tale you want to hear to the end. 616 is worth the money. Equinox is excellent work of John Zorn. Possession is the album’s biggest hit, I think. Get Moonchild and turn on Caligula if you are going to sip your wine late at night. Ghosts Of Thelema which is my favorite is a truly John Zorn sounding song. I can’t stop playing Abraxas. Hellfire - This one is lively and fun.
