Less Than Jake’s debut, ‘The People’s History Of Less Than Jake’, does not fit easily into one genre. The People’s History Of Less Than Jake constantly brilliant.
What sets Paul Introduction apart is Less Than Jake’s innovative and organic way of creating atmospheres. Outside of the singles, my favorite song on The People’s History Of Less Than Jake is Help Save The Youth Of America From Exploding (London). Simple and heartfelt closing track JR Interview closes The People’s History Of Less Than Jake on a high note. Nice and different song. This is one of those songs that musicians strive to write and create. Buddy Interview is a bit of a show-tune. Suburban Myth (London) is filled with very deep emotions that will truly touch your heart. Roger Interview still maintains something of a specific flourish. Look What Happened (Rhode Island) is the albums biggest surprise. Help Save The Youth Of America From Exploding (Rhode Island) is a very good song maybe surprisingly better than you at first might’ve imagined. This song is like perfectly aged vintage bordeaux wine not a tequila shot. Blew our minds when we first heard Happyman (Rhode Island). 9th and Pine (Rhode Island) - Check out that bassline! Great American Sharpshooter (Rhode Island) is pretty funky and mellow. Strong, powerful vocals of Less Than Jake in Sugar In Your Gas Tank (Rhode Island) are very impressive. How’s My Driving Doug Hastings? (Rhode Island) is a strong cut, one of many. Less Than Jake has created something that grabs you by the heart and gets you moving. Get The People’s History Of Less Than Jake and turn on Mr. Chevy Celebrity (Rhode Island) if you are going to sip your wine late at night. All My Best Friends Are Metalheads (Rhode Island) rocked my world when I popped it into my car stereo. Gainesville Rock City (Rhode Island) is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. I find myself hearing bits of Big (Live) here and there throughout my waking hours. Time and A Half / Econolodged (Live) is one of the most beautiful songs ever to grace my stereo. Out Of The Crowd (Live) is new, fresh, and hypnotizing. Simply the finest work ever from this multi-talented singer. Johnny Quest Thinks We’re Sellouts (Live) is, without a doubt, my favorite song, ever. After few listenings I started to like How’s My Driving Doug Hastings? (Live) more and more. There is amazing mix of music in Last One Out Of Liberty City (Live). Look What Happened (Live) is so unique, as each one of the songs is. Still going through The People’s History Of Less Than Jake and coming to appreciate The Ghosts Of You and Me (Live) more and more with every listen. Just Like Frank (Live) - A catchy, upbeat tune. Nervous In The Alley (Live) - another great track from the The People’s History Of Less Than Jake album. Less Than Jake is one of artists that allow his songs like Escape From The A-Bomb House (Live) to stand on their own and be heard. The Brightest Bulb Has Burned Out / Screws Fall Out (Live) is just simply stunning. Voice of Less Than Jake in A.S.A.O.K. (Live) is honest and guitar work is subtle and poignant. Scott Farcas Takes It On The Chin (Live) is absolutely incredible. Such hits like Motto (Live) will leave you hooked. It’s a great pleasure to listen to Sobriety Is A Serious Business and Business Isn’t So Good (Live) from the beginning to the end. Dopeman (Live) is possibly the best song Less Than Jake has come up. Less Than Jake is hitting on all cylinders in Welcome To The New South (Live). Johnny Quest Thinks We’re Sellouts (Live) is a bit different from Less Than Jake stereotypical stuff. The first time I listened to Vinnie Interview I was struck by its cool sound. Listening to Plastic Cup Politics (A Year In The Life) you can hear that Less Than Jake has still amazing chemistry with band members. JR Interview - This happy song is an ode to optimism and an anthem. All My Best Friends Are Metalheads (A Year In The Life) is really the reason why I recommend buying The People’s History Of Less Than Jake. Short Fuse Burning (A Year In The Life) great lyrics, dark, deep, angry and cool.Music and lyrics of Vinnie Interview creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming. I like the agression and power of Vinnie Interview. This song stands out greatly from the others. Overall a nice softer song.
