It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Urban Mystic energies, virtually a rebirth. Ghetto Revelations II is an amazing album, racked with beauty. This is the first studio album from Urban Mystic since bad diagnosis in 2006. Urban Mystic is one of my favourite bands of all time.
Where Were You? defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. You can find feelings on this piece of art. The beautiful sound of this track makes you want to close your eyes and sway away with the music. I Refuse is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. Within the first few notes of Your Portrait it’s perfectly clear that Urban Mystic is living this song. I Got That (Ft. Smitty) is the more seemingly obscure song on Ghetto Revelations II that bear up best to repeated listening. A fantastic track full of wonder. Album opener Let’s Make A Change (Ft. Trick Daddy) is a bright, upbeat ditty. What sets A Change Gonna Come apart is Urban Mystic’s innovative and organic way of creating atmospheres. Back It Up (Ft. Stacks) is the album’s biggest hit, I think.
