Since completing 2005’s ‘Value Form Of Participation’, Ultra Red fulfilled their contract with Sparrow Records and where under no obligation to release another album. There were many famous songs of Ultra Red available. Self-described as Experimental with lots of words, Ultra Red comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. Value Form Of Participation and The Debt (Themes) is really good.
The Debt (Themes) hits the heart. In this song fans will recognize the unique vocals of Ultra Red. Temporary Amenities is nothing but pure genius. Against A Natural History Of Wind is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. Return (Beyond The Pale) is simple, dignified and effective, Ultra Red refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. Interior Designs is one of the more up-tempo songs on The Debt. One Door Down has a fun tempo.
