For older fans Experiments in Ambient Soul will put a massive smile accross your face. Since The Dining Rooms last CD (Experiments in Ambient Soul) on SixSteps records back in 2005, I have felt a massive void in my life. Since completing 2005’s ‘U’, The Dining Rooms fulfilled their contract with SixSteps records and where under no obligation to release another album. I greatly enjoyed this CD.
Vocals of The Dining Rooms in World She Made really capture me and are set perfectly to the rhythm. It’s very catchy and easy to get into which is what you want in a song. Experiments in Ambient Soul - Well, here we get a bit more meaning. From the sound of it, I believe the song can be a big radio hit. Within is a bit of a show-tune. Girotondo Dei Grandi is the albums biggest surprise. Only one song from Experiments in Ambient Soul named Destination Moon really got me. Milano Calibro 9 - arguably the best track on Experiments in Ambient Soul album. Driving - For me, this is the best of the album. In Afrolicious the music gets its power. Voice of The Dining Rooms in Diamonds & Comforts is honest and guitar work is subtle and poignant. No Problem has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets The Dining Rooms’s strong vocals come to the fore.
