Baptism carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. This is one of the best Cd’s Lenny Kravitz has dropped to date. There is so much to love about Lenny Kravitz, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. Baptism constantly brilliant.
Voice of Lenny Kravitz in I Don’t Want To Be A Star is honest and guitar work is subtle and poignant. Lady - This one has a powerful beat and a good melody. Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right. Lenny Kravitz rocks harder than ever with California. Album opener Sistamamalover is a bright, upbeat ditty. In Where Are We Runnin’? it becomes nowhere more obvious that Lenny Kravitz has yet to define own style. The first time I listened to Baptized I was struck by its amazing sound. Flash has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets Lenny Kravitz’s strong vocals come to the fore. This track is just fantastic from start to finish. This song is dynamic and dramatic. I find myself hearing bits of The Other Side here and there throughout my waking hours. Once Destiny gets in your head, it will NEVER leave. Uncharted Terrain (Japan Bonus Track) is beautiful, yet underrated track.
