There is so much to love about Rory Block, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. This is one of the best Cd’s Rory Block has dropped to date. For older fans The Lady and Mr. Johnson will put a massive smile accross your face. This album is awesome.
If I Had Possession Over Judgement Day defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. Hellhound On My Trail one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard. Come In My Kitchen as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. This song may be the most meaningful. I was truly moved when I heard Me And The Devil Blues. Terraplane Blues on The Lady and Mr. Johnson is solid and easy to listen to. Ramblin’ On My Mind is really a nice song to relax and listen too. In 32-20 Blues full palet of sound is used by Rory Block to accentuate the presentation. Listening to Walkin’ Blues you can hear that Rory Block has still amazing chemistry with band members. Milkcow’s Blues - A nice song. Preaching Blues (Up Jumped The Devil) is possibly the most mysterious and inexplicable track Rory Block ever produced. Cross Road Blues is probably one of Rory Block’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to.
