On the Sweden charts, superstar Popa Chubby’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Popa Chubby on ‘Un-American Blues’. This thirteen-song debut EP shows the promise that Popa Chubby has. This album is in perfect progression from Popa Chubby!
It’s such an underrated song. Charming song, great melody. I’m Not Afraid is one of the best records ever. Popa Chubby has created something that grabs you by the heart and gets you moving. Once Young Men gets in your head, it will NEVER leave. Midnight Ride/Peace is probably the most interesting track on Peace, Love and Respect. Like The Buddha Do is absolutely incredible. The Devil Gonna Drag You Down can be hardly overrated by any means; this is what Popa Chubby is all about. Sweet Release stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. When I listen to Life Is A Beatdown in my car when traffic ain’t going so good. One of the more genuine-sounding songs is See You In Sete.
