Lead single “Some You Win, Some You Lose” and “One Room, One Axe, One Outcome” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. While no new Orange Goblin album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 2004 tour in Africa. On the Jamaica charts, superstar Orange Goblin’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. If you love Orange Goblin as much as I do, then Orange Goblin Thieving From The House Of God is the CD for you!
One Room, One Axe, One Outcome catches attention immediately, Hard Luck is simply cool. What sets Black Egg apart is Orange Goblin’s innovative and organic way of creating atmospheres. This track is just fantastic from start to finish. If It Ain’t Broke, Break It without a doubt is the standout song of Thieving From The House Of God. Lazy Mary is absolutely incredible. Listening to Round Up The Horses you can hear that Orange Goblin has still amazing chemistry with band members. Tosh Lines pretty much defines how I feel spiritually. Just Got Paid is just simply stunning. Still going through Thieving From The House Of God and coming to appreciate Crown Of Locusts more and more with every listen.
