There is so much to love about Orphanage, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. After debuting at No. 1 last week, Orphanage’s album Driven falls to No. 2 with 693,000, a sales slide of 55%. This is the first studio album from Orphanage since bad diagnosis in 2004. This is what good Metal: Gothic should be.
Black Magic Mirror very upbeat. Cold is a bit different from Orphanage stereotypical stuff. Once you hear Prophecies Of Fame, you will listen to it over and over. Dead Ground is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. Blew our minds when we first heard My Masters Master. Back Gate - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. In Slavery is astounding. Truth Or Lies is a song to enjoy for years to come. Driven is a bit of a show-tune. Infinity presents the exquisite mix of instruments on Driven. Addiction (4:18) Not one of my favorites, but for a lot of people this is one of their best songs. A unique and uplifting song. Enders Game is one of the coolest songs Orphanage has ever recorded.
