Voice and instruments in Say It Like You Mean It complement each other. Some call Portrait from Voices as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. The sound of Singing Bridges (We’ll All Fall) is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. Such hits like Fiction will leave you hooked. What A Sight is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. I Wish You Were Here is probably one of Matchbook Romance’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to. Charming song, great melody.
