Eric Bibb’s debut, ‘A Ship Called Love’, does not fit easily into one genre. A Ship Called Love carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. Eric Bibb had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. This album is a scorcher!
Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right. In Right Where We Are full palet of sound is used by Eric Bibb to accentuate the presentation. I like to sing along with Like Aretha Loves To Sing, though I mess up the lyrics sometimes. I’ll Never Lose You - a classic song. The Way You Are is one of these floating songs. Stickin’ To You is one of the most beautiful songs ever to grace my stereo. Troubadour without a doubt is the standout song of A Ship Called Love. There is amazing mix of music in That’s What I Do. Turning World is almost impossible to review. Vocals of Eric Bibb in More O’ That really capture me and are set perfectly to the rhythm. Faded Jeans is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about. In When I Hear The Waves the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: Praise ‘N’ Thanksgiviing, which shows, blatantly, how much Eric Bibb has evolved as a singer.
