I am not a real Rap: Hip-Hop music type of person, but i have to admit ‘The Genie of the Lamp’ really is amazing. There is no doubt that Mac Dre has talent. The Genie of the Lamp carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. To me Mac Dre is the best band ever.
Such hits like Crest Shit will leave you hooked. Album opener Make You Mine is a bright, upbeat ditty. This track is a killer, it just grabs you instantly. Hotel Motel - I used to hate this song, but now it’s one of my favorites. Although Not My Job is very melodic it is far from sad. I’ve found myself listening to I Feed My Bitch back to back and back many times. One of the more genuine-sounding songs is Hear Me Now?. Non Discriminant is the first taste of the new album. The sound of Err Thang is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. My Alphabets is excellent and different song. Out There is a medium tempo tune. I like the idea behind Early Retirement. The sound in She Neva Seen is really warm and Mac Dre’s signature voice is still very much present. Genie of the Lamp gives taste of what makes Mac Dre special as a musician.
