This compilation contains all of the biggest hits by Baccara. Baccara had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. This -song debut EP shows the promise that Baccara has. Cool, but I like their other actual stuff better like The Collection.
As always, Baccara’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again. Bad Boys defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. Body Talk is the marvelous blend of moody yet optimistic tunes. When I listen to Boogaloo in my car when traffic ain’t going so good. Can’t Help Falling Love is a great song for a cosy night in when it’s cold and wintry outside. Cara Mia is probably the highlight of the album. After you’ve listened to Colorado, most everything else can’t hold up and is second rate. Baccara has created something that grabs you by the heart and gets you moving. Gimme More - This one is lively and fun. This track is full of harmonies and gets The Collection off to a relaxing start. Baccara is hitting on all cylinders in Heart Body and Soul. Koochie - Koo is simple, dignified and effective, Baccara refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. La Bamba is the song that really did it for me. Light My Fire is a fine track on any terms. One of the songs that always stick in my mind is Mucho Mucho because the melody in the chorus is so good. This track is just a stunning masterpiece. Number One is the most memorable and excellent. Ohio hits the heart. Opening track Parlez-Vous Francais shows the best of Baccara. It took me a little time but I ended up loving Somewhere In Paradise. Sorry I’m A Lady is the first taste of the new album. Spend The Night is simply amazing. Put The Clapping Song (maccarena Mix) into car stereo for your highway driving The Devil Sent You To Lorado has a beautifully haunting disco flavor. When listening to Woman To Woman, it gives me such an energy rush it’s unbelievable. The Collection couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track Yes Sir I Can Boogie. I listened to the opening track Yummy Yummy Yummy and liked it a lot.
