Mychael Danna was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Mychael Danna and The Nativity Story: Sacred Songs together. The Nativity Story: Sacred Songs isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. ‘The Nativity Story: Sacred Songs’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. Great Soundtrack right here!
This is one of those tracks that should not be judged after the first hearing. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. I like the agression and power of You Shall Be His Wife. The Annunciation is astounding. To Elizabeth defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. The Magi is a very catchy tune. Why Is It Me? is the most memorable and perfect. In Corde Natus Ex Parentis the music gets its power. Mychael Danna rocks harder than ever with Return Of Mary. Best song on the album, love it. Census - This one is lively and fun. The Journey - My least favorite song on this album. Give Me A Sign - a classic song. The Shepherd is an incredible song that has everything it needs to be another favorite track. Lyrics of And Thou Bethlehem are precise and evocative. Is There A Place For Us? I just LOVE this mix! This song is dynamic and dramatic. Strong, powerful vocals of Mychael Danna in I Bring You Good Tidings are very impressive. The Strength I Prayed For is a cool, simple song by Mychael Danna at the top of his game. The Shepherd’s Gift is absolutely incredible. In Rosa Vernat Lilium is nothing but pure genius. Put Silens Nox into car stereo for your highway driving Rosa Aeterna Floret is the albums biggest surprise.
