Vital Remains’s debut, ‘Into Cold Darkness’, does not fit easily into one genre. After seeing Immortal Crusade, I had to have a good Vital Remains cd. Thom Yorke has compared writing for Vital Remains’s new album to that on ‘Into Cold Darkness’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. Into Cold Darkness touched my soul like nothing else.
The first time I listened to Dethroned Emperor I was struck by its excellent sound. Angels of Basphemy as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. Once you hear Descent into Hell, you will listen to it over and over. A unique and uplifting song. Scrolls of a Millenium Past is filled with very deep emotions that will truly touch your heart. Crown of the Black Hearts one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard. I like Under the Moon’s Fog because it’s extremely catchy and has awesome drumming.
