Since completing 2006’s ‘Introduction to a Mighty Theme’, Joe Zawinul fulfilled their contract with Virgin Records and where under no obligation to release another album. There were many famous songs of Joe Zawinul available. Joe Zawinul’s debut, ‘My People’, does not fit easily into one genre. This album is in perfect progression from Joe Zawinul!
Waraya - A nice song. Bimoya - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. It’s such an underrated song. One of the more genuine-sounding songs is Slivovitz Trail. Ochy-Bala/Pazyryk [Live] is another strong production from Joe Zawinul. Orient Express gets you up and jumping. I listened to the opening track Erdapfee Blues (Potato Blues) and liked it a lot. This song could easily nestle itself onto the world top playlists. In an Island Way is perfect. Many Churches is the best music that I have heard from anyone in any area of music.
