This is one of the best Cd’s Enrico Caruso has dropped to date. Enrico Caruso had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. After debuting at No. 1 last week, Enrico Caruso’s album Greatest Hits - cd1 falls to No. 2 with 242,000, a sales slide of 62%. I greatly enjoyed this CD.
Only one song from Greatest Hits - cd1 named Over there really got me. A vucchela defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. This is one hell of a track. From the moment you listen to Hantise d’amour you’re hooked. Outside of the singles, my favorite song on Greatest Hits - cd1 is Santa Lucia. La danza is exquisite and different song. Mamma quel vino generoso has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets Enrico Caruso’s strong vocals come to the fore. This track is clearly meant to showcase Enrico Caruso’s vocal abilities. Blew our minds when we first heard Guardann’ a luna. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. In Addio Napoli the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. Libiamo ne’ lieti calici - a classic song. This track is full of harmonies and gets Greatest Hits - cd1 off to a relaxing start. O soave fanciulla (3:19) a good melody. Vesti la giubba is another strong production from Enrico Caruso. I came to like Amor ti vieta. Che gelida manina is just a great song and one well worth taking the time to give it a good listen. Bianca al par is a astounding song and it grows on you. It’s so catchy, it’s amazing.
