Since completing 2005’s ‘A Scenery Of Loss’, Draconian fulfilled their contract with Mute Records and where under no obligation to release another album. Draconian was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Draconian and Arcane Rain Fell together. Jim Jones has compared writing for Draconian’s new album to that on ‘Arcane Rain Fell’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. Arcane Rain Fell touched my soul like nothing else.
I listened to the opening track Daylight Misery and liked it a lot. It’s very catchy and easy to get into which is what you want in a song. Expostulation is just simply stunning. Heaven Laid In Tears (Angels’ Lament) is really a nice song to relax and listen too. The Abhorrent Rays - I used to hate this song, but now it’s one of my favorites. The Everlasting Scar presents the perfect mix of instruments on Arcane Rain Fell. Some of the arrangements found on Arcane Rain Fell are surprisingly edgy.
