This album has some very good songs like Mountains of Mourne and Old Dungarvan Oak. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Daniel O’Donnell on ‘Mountains of Mourne’. When you buy a Daniel O’Donnell album, you know exactly what you’re getting! This is what good Classical should be.
Old Dungarvan Oak - This one has a powerful beat and a good melody. Three Leaf Shamrock - A nice song. Pretty Little Girl from Omagh is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. Sing an Old Irish Song is the albums biggest surprise. Isle of Innisfree - This one makes me want to not only sing along. Forty Shades of Green make listening to Daniel O’Donnell like being in some sort of time warp. After about the third Galway Bay listen through, I began to believe this song is Daniel O’Donnell’s essence. Green Glens of Antrim - another great track from the The Irish Album CD1 album. In Home Is Where the Heart Is Daniel O’Donnell spins a tale you want to hear to the end. If you are a Daniel O’Donnell fan, you will love I’ll Take You Home Again Kathleen. Irish Eyes sets the tone for the entire album. My Donegal Shore is one of the more up-tempo songs on The Irish Album CD1. So much energy, so exciting a sound.I have all of Daniel O’Donnell’s tracks and Any Tipperary Town is probably the most his introspective effort. Blue Hills of Breffni is a song that definitely grows on you and becomes an album favorite. Come Back Paddy Reilly to Ballyjamesduff is beautiful, yet underrated track. Danny Boy is astounding. Awesome song is really all that you can say about it. Far Far from Home is really a nice song to relax and listen too.
