Now signed to Blackfield’s Capitol Records, the title track from second album “Blackfield” leads Blackfield’s back-to-school campaign. This sixteen-song debut EP shows the promise that Blackfield has. There is so much to love about Blackfield, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. This is the best album I have heard in a long time
This song stands out greatly from the others. Hole in me [fragment] is filled with very deep emotions that will truly touch your heart. Glow rocked my world when I popped it into my car stereo. Pain as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. This song is very powerful, its catchy melody will have you singing along in no time. Unknown - I used to hate this song, but now it’s one of my favorites. When I listen to Waiting for another day [Porcupine Tree] in my car when traffic ain’t going so good. Lyrics of Summer are precise and evocative. After you’ve listened to Where is my love, most everything else can’t hold up and is second rate. Cloudy Now is astounding. Scars - My least favorite song on this album. Hello is one of my favorite songs by Blackfield. In So Long [bis] it becomes nowhere more obvious that Blackfield has yet to define own style. Pain & Cloudy Now [bis] is just simply stunning.
