After seeing Lately, I had to have a good Vashti Bunyan cd. Vashti Bunyan’s debut, ‘Lookaftering’, does not fit easily into one genre. It’s natural for Vashti Bunyan to take a stab at ‘Lately’ considering her long-professed love for Ondskapt. Lookaftering constantly brilliant.
Here Before - This one is what it is: a powerful, primal invitation to love. Nice and different song. Hidden - Well, here we get a bit more meaning. Opening track Against The Sky shows the best of Vashti Bunyan. The opening track Turning Back is very much like you would expect from other albums. Vashti Bunyan has astounded me with this amazing track. Same But Different is just simply stunning. Brother is an incredible song that has everything it needs to be another favorite track. The first time I listened to Feet Of Clay I was struck by its gorgeous sound. In Wayward Hum the music gets its power.
