Lead single “Walkin’ In N.Y.” and “Greek Song” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. There is no doubt that The Manhattan Transfer has talent. On Vibrate album, The Manhattan Transfer have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. I greatly enjoyed this CD.
Greek Song - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. Blew our minds when we first heard Vibrate. The New JuJu Man (Tutu) pretty much defines how I feel spiritually. Doodlin’ - I like this one. The Twelfth is beautiful, yet underrated track. First Ascent which is my favorite is a truly The Manhattan Transfer sounding song. Core Of Sound (Modinha) (4:59) - awsome. Feel Flows - I just love it. Embraceable You is an incredible song that has everything it needs to be another favorite track. Vocals of The Manhattan Transfer in Come Softly To Me - I Met Him On A Sunday really capture me and are set perfectly to the rhythm.
