On Prayer album, Michael Hoppe have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. After debuting at No. 1 last week, Michael Hoppe’s album Prayer falls to No. 2 with 378,000, a sales slide of 76%. Since Michael Hoppe last CD (Prayer) on EMI Records back in 2005, I have felt a massive void in my life. Exciting stuff.
Prayer For Dokdo is an underrated song: I like its lyrics and melody a lot. Album opener Lincoln’s Lament is a bright, upbeat ditty. The Parting still maintains something of a specific flourish. The Unforgetting Heart one of the best in my collection. Simply the finest work ever from this multi-talented singer. Children’s Waltz is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about. Wistful has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets Michael Hoppe’s strong vocals come to the fore. Moon Ghost (3:39) a good melody. When listening to Farewell, it gives me such an energy rush it’s unbelievable. I can’t stop humming along Nostalgia. Awesome song is really all that you can say about it. Homeland actually sounds so joyous, that you can practically see a smile on Michael Hoppe’s face.
