Since completing 2005’s ‘Bodpa’, Kettel fulfilled their contract with Savoy Records and where under no obligation to release another album. This ten-song debut EP shows the promise that Kettel has. Through Friendly Waters carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. To me Kettel is the best band ever.
In Pinch Of Peer Kettel is at his best. Shinusob is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. Kettel emotions are reflected through I Was Fine. Simple and heartfelt closing track Through Friendly Waters closes Through Friendly Waters on a high note. It’s such an underrated song. Don’t judge Purple Jacket Trot on the first listening. Mwoeb is worth the money. Some of the arrangements found on Through Friendly Waters are surprisingly edgy.
