This is the first studio album from Tyler Bates since bad diagnosis in 2005. Since Tyler Bates last CD (The Devil’s Rejects) on Sparrow Records back in 2005, I have felt a massive void in my life. This album has some very good songs like Tiny And His Girl/Police and Ten Cars Twenty Pigs. This is what good Classical should be.
Ten Cars Twenty Pigs is an incredible song that has everything it needs to be another favorite track. Shootout is a very catchy tune. Tyler Bates allows each song to breathe and flourish. Ride The Horse is filled with very deep emotions that will truly touch your heart. Song Driving To The Khaki Palms is actually a funny song. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with Unwanted Guests. After about the third Official Clown Buisness listen through, I began to believe this song is Tyler Bates’s essence. Dirty Knees has to be one of the most beautiful tracks on the entire album. Awesome song is really all that you can say about it. Yellow Brick Road is a song that takes you on the journey before it reaches the conclusion. Another Failed Escape is the most memorable and marvelous. I was truly moved when I heard Adam’s Face. When listening to The Rejects Were Here, it gives me such an energy rush it’s unbelievable. Road Kill is one of the coolest songs Tyler Bates has ever recorded. Brother George/I Found Your Guy without a doubt is the standout song of The Devil’s Rejects. Holy Guacamole is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. One of the songs that always stick in my mind is Hand Sandwich because the melody in the chorus is so good. Joyride one of the best in my collection. Staples is simply perfect. You Feeling It, Brother? - This happy song is an ode to optimism and an anthem. Some of the arrangements found on The Devil’s Rejects are surprisingly edgy. Tiny Snaps Wydell pretty much defines how I feel spiritually. This song may be the most meaningful.
