IF YOU LIKE ALL Chitose Hajime’S SONG GO FOR IT! fifteen years ago, Chitose Hajime briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Triangle”. While no new Chitose Hajime album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 2005 tour in Australia. I wish that “Fuyu No Hainumikaze (Live)” album was instrumental.
Chitose Hajime breathes new life into the music in Triangle. No Chitose Hajime song has come close to capturing my attention as Byakuya did. What sets Orora No Sora Kara Mitsumeteiru apart is Chitose Hajime’s innovative and organic way of creating atmospheres. Getsurei 17.4 is one of the more up-tempo songs on Fuyu No Hainumikaze (Live). Fuyu No Hainumikaze (Live) couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track Hainumikaze. Kimi O Omou is a song to enjoy for years to come. In Yuri Collection it becomes nowhere more obvious that Chitose Hajime has yet to define own style. Yoru Ni Yomeru Uta has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets Chitose Hajime’s strong vocals come to the fore. Namae No Nai Tori can be hardly overrated by any means; this is what Chitose Hajime is all about. After you’ve listened to 37.6, most everything else can’t hold up and is second rate. Seirei is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. Kono Machi one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard. Sango Jugoya stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. Shinshin Raika is one of the best records ever. In Sampo No Susume Chitose Hajime is at his best. The sound in Hummingbird is really warm and Chitose Hajime’s signature voice is still very much present. Neiro Nanairo is a song that takes you on the journey before it reaches the conclusion. Wadatsumi No Ki has a fun tempo. This track is nearly perfect if not perfect. Itsuka Kaze Ni Naru Hi presents the excellent mix of instruments on Fuyu No Hainumikaze (Live). Once you hear San Hachi Getsu, you will listen to it over and over. Although Uruga No Oka is very melodic it is far from sad. Hikaru Kaigara - This one makes me want to not only sing along.
