Charlie Parker’s debut, ‘Fiesta (Remastered)’, does not fit easily into one genre. Fiesta (Remastered) isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. It’s natural for Charlie Parker to take a stab at ‘Mango Mangue’ considering her long-professed love for Gustav Holst. Fiesta (Remastered) touched my soul like nothing else.
Music and lyrics of No Noise (Part 1 + 2) creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming. Musically My Little Suede Shoes is superior to other tracks in Fiesta (Remastered). Okiedoke is a strong cut, one of many. Un Poquito De Tu Amor defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. Why Do I Love You? is beautiful, yet underrated track. This is one hell of a track. I loved Fiesta the first time I heard it. One of the more genuine-sounding songs is Afro-Cuban Jazz Suite. The sound of La Cucaracha is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. Strong, powerful vocals of Charlie Parker in Mama Inez are very impressive. Estrellita - This one is what it is: a powerful, primal invitation to love. La Paloma is a song that takes you on the journey before it reaches the conclusion. Begin The Beguine is perhaps one of the best tracks of the past decade.
