Downtown Science is an amazing album, racked with beauty. There were many famous songs of Blockhead available. Lead single “Expiration Date” and “Roll Out The Red Carpet” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. This album is in perfect progression from Blockhead!
Roll Out The Red Carpet catches attention immediately, Blockhead is one of artists that allow his songs like Serenade to stand on their own and be heard. Cherry Picker still maintains something of a specific flourish. Crashing Down gives taste of what makes Blockhead special as a musician. Voice and instruments in Stop Motion Traffic complement each other. Put Art Of Walking into car stereo for your highway driving Good Block Bad Block - For me, this is the best of the album. Dough Nation is an upbeat song with a constant snare hit. Quiet Storm is a nice, innocuous song, and much better than anything Blockhead released so far. First Snowfall - Blockhead is the albums biggest surprise. Long Walk Home is probably the most interesting track on Downtown Science.
